Georgia: Savannah
After of course a much needed Starbucks run, we continued to Savannah, GA. Remember how I mentioned the trees look different in every state? Check this out!!
As soon as we got to town we headed straight to "Slys Sliders and Fries" as recommended by my friend Jeff. Excellent!
There were so many delicious slider options to try! We weren't SUPER hungry so we each just got one so we could save room for peach cobbler of course :D
Yelp pointed us to a small local joint called "Sisters."
Lots of yummy looking home cookin'! The peach cobbler was definitely amazing and we were so glad we shared it!!
Before we left, we asked the lady working there what she thought we should do if we just had one night. She said go downtown to River St. We did just that! Went downtown and parked and walked the streets towards the river.
We stopped to get some espresso at the coffee fox. Unfortunately the espresso was nothing to write home about lol...
Lots of shops and hotels on this street--very touristy area.
We walked down the street going into every gift shop in search of our car sticker souvenir and some peach jelly and finally found some :)
We saw a cargo ship half the size of the titanic pass by right at sunset which was really cool.
After watching the incredible sunset on the water, we started walking to City Market which is known for having live music, food, and shops open late. We hung out there for a little bit listening to music from the square--resting and taking in our surroundings.
On our way back to our car we stopped at Sweet Melissa's for pizza slices. Really good!
Last stop, Starbucks where we met two really awesome baristas. One from Colorado! Then back on the road to head to Orlando Florida. 4.5 hours. Got to a truck stop in Florida in Jacksonville to sleep. Super hot night.
