California: Pismo Beach

We left home around 10am on Wednesday April 5th in hopes of taking hwy1 down the coast to get to Los Angeles-- our first stop. One of our favorite places on the coast to explore is Bixby Bridge. When we got there we ended up having to turn around because rockslides were still being cleaned up from Monterey to SLO!

We didn't mind backtracking a bit because the weather was absolutely gorgeous.

We decided to stop in Pismo Beach for lunch at Wooly's which was pretty good 😊

We didn't have plans to be in LA until the next day so we thought why not stay here for the night?

As we were driving around Chris remembered that there was a certain beach that we could actually drive our truck on. We found it and paid $10 to drive around inches from the water and to camp out for the night.

The next morning we stopped for breakfast at this wacky 50s style diner on our way out of town.

Our time in Pismo was the most random, magical, and unexpected adventure that was the perfect way to start our journey.
