Coeur d'Alene: Idaho & Spokane: Washington

We drove 3 hours from Montana to Couer d’Alene and were confused because the time zone changed back from MT to PT right before we got there. So surprised that it hasn't really affected us. We would wake up at 10am ET and now we are waking up at 7am PT so our internal clocks haven't changed at all - so strange! As soon as we got into town we went straight to my friend’s Starbucks to visit with her. We used to work together at a Starbucks in California and she moved away a few years back. So good to see her! I don’t know how we managed not to get a photo with her :(

We went to Schmidty’s burgers for lunch per a friends recommendation where we had amazing jalapeño pepper jack chipotle mayo burgers and sweet potato fries!

The owner told us to check out Liberty Lake in Washington about 5 miles up and the boardwalk down the street before that. We liked to ask locals for suggestions to keep our trip fun and interesting :)

We walked down 4th street to the boardwalk and got a beer at the bar in this fancy resort hotel.

We stopped for ice cream at Sweet Peaks and chatted with the sweet girls working in there for a bit and got homemade waffle cones with their epic ice cream! Cashews, cookie pieces, and chocolate chips—yuuuuummmm.

It was super delicious! Then we headed out to Liberty Lake (the part of it where you could actually swim). So gorgeous. We found the public entrance and put our feet in. It looked too dirty to get all the way in even though we wanted to.

Glacier National Park was crystal clear and couldn't compare. Then we tried to go off roading and realized we were out of gas. So we got gas and headed out to Spokane and then Portland.  We drove 10 hours total today and got to a Loves at 2am.
